Mehdi Najafi was a 21-year-old originally from Ajin Abad, Asadabad. He was killed on January 9, 2026, in the city of Qarchak, Tehran Province, after being shot in the back of the head by security agents of the Islamic Republic. He is remembered as one of the 'Javidnam' (eternal names) of the Iranian protest movement.
